William G. Jorden was a founding member of the Mars Area Girls Softball League. Each year, MAGS awards a $500 scholarship to be used for secondary education expenses to one girl in the senior division. Those girls who will be ineligible to play the following year in the league due to age are eligible for the scholarship.
Applicants are reviewed on leadership ability, sportsmanship, furthering education, team spirit, dedication, skill, and an essay submittal. Award is made/annoucned at the MAGS picnic.
